| mission readiness |
 |
The Georgia State Defense Force is an integral part of Georgia's overall disaster readiness.
As an integral component of several emergency services and search & rescue operations, including support for Hurricane Katrina, the Meredith Emerson and Jason Rourk searches, the Melvin Park search and assisting local law enforcement operations from helping to search for crime weapons to traffic control, the GSDF is a ready, reliable and professional force for the citizens of Georgia.
In addition, we gather together for formal occasions, away from the hectic pace of mission deployment, in fellowship as a military family.
