| There are many diffent courses available to enlisted personnel, Noncommissioned Officers and Officers alike. From Soldier's Leadership Course, which teaches young NCO's the principals of leadership to the Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (BNCOC) and Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course (ANCOC), which reinforces those skills learned and provides the groundwork for leading platoon and company sized units. The Officers Candidate School gives soldiers who wish to join the Officer's ranks the opportunity to work for their commission. In addition to these, there are numerous specialty courses, such as the Wilderness Search & Rescue School (WSAR), Community Emergency Response Training (CERT), and a host of FEMA-related and administered courses to give soldiers the cutting edge in emergency response and management. |

The Wilderness Search & Rescue School (WSAR), sponsored by the National Association of Search & Rescue is the premier school in the United States for Search & Rescue procedures.
WSAR teaches students the fundamentals of land navigation, compass reading, map reading, search tactics, philosophy, consciousness and operations, lost person behaviour patterns, as well as how to work with FEMA, the National Incident Management System and the Department of Homeland Security. Graduates from the WSAR course stand among the finest of search & rescue specialists and are prepared to lead troops in the field, regardless of the conditions.
