The GSDF In Action!
Soldiers from the Georgia State Defense are often deployed in a variety of scenarios, from training operations to actual missions throughout the state of Georgia. From land navigation training at Ft. Stewart to search operations on Blood Mountain, the GSDF is there!
In June of 2008, elements of 2nd Battalion, along with other units of the 1st Brigade took part in Opposing Force training with the 3rd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment, Georgia Army National Guard.
Soldiers from the GSDF were instrumental to the success of the 3rd Squadron, 108th Regiment while training to assume their role of the National Guard Reaction Force. The realism and experience contributed by the troops of the GSDF greatly increased the quality of the training and the performance of the National Guard soldiers.
This is one of many examples of the expertise and professionalism contributed to units of the Georgia Army National Guard such as the 3rd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment, the 221st Military Intelligence and other assets of the National Guard and 48th Brigade Combat Team. As always, the Georgia State Defense Force stands ready to support those who defend our freedoms and the American way of life.
